Is an Oblivion remake coming? ›

Those who have been hoping for a The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake can get ready as one will be arriving in 2025 and it will be completely free.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim followed in November 2011 to critical acclaim. The game is not a direct sequel to its predecessor, Oblivion, but instead takes place 200 years later, in Tamriel's land of Skyrim.

Once Skyblivion is released in 2025, fans will have access to the entirety of Oblivion's pre-DLC world space, systems, and quests available for play. But that's not the end of the project!
